In the past couple of weeks, there have been a few stories that make us realise our vulnerability as citizens of the UK these days.

There are regular stories of Russian ships and planes getting close to our shores and in striking distance of our infrastructure.

There is the climate, an unpredictable beast, bringing heatwaves, tornadoes and floods with potentially increasing frequency.
