Christianity on the podcast
Rogan’s pursuit of truth spans over 2,000 episodes, where he inevitably runs into Christianity. Jesus is often mentioned in his podcast by well-known academics who are being interviewed. Most famously, Jordan Peterson who is sympathetic to the Christian ethic but presents a moral argument for Jesus. Other celebrity Christians, such as Matt Walsh, have not been able to defend or present their faith credibly on the show. The well-known Christian apologist Stephen Myer gave the rational scientific case for intelligent design but then lost Rogan in the mysticism of his own testimony.
With audiences of many millions, I have grieved the Christian witness on this show and have prayed for an authentic Christian guest who is dependable enough to present our faith without getting lost in the quirks of conspiracy that Rogan likes to draw out in his interviews.
With full credit to Joe Rogan, he welcomed Wesley Huff in episode #2252. Huff is the son of missionaries to Pakistan and is currently a PhD student at the University of Toronto (Biblical Studies: New Testament). Huff did a wonderful job presenting Christian truth within the remits that the show allows.
The three-hour conversation started slowly as Rogan expertly teased Huff with small talk, allowing him to relax into the discussion. Rogan attempted to entice Huff into a debate around his favourite subjects concerning ancient Egypt and the construction of the pyramids, miracles, the Big Bang theory and the gnostic gospels, but Huff did not falter. Rogan raised a question on the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls and was surprised to hear of the accuracy of the Isaiah manuscripts. Rogan knew that Huff was a genuine expert in this field and was respectful of him. Whenever Rogan attempted to side-track into more bizarre or alternative topics, Huff patiently let the conversation return to the point where he politely corrected any misinformation. Rogan conceded 'that it is easy to get lost into all the fun stuff', affirming the simple reality of the Christian message that Huff was defending.
As Huff sat patiently listening, it was Joe Rogan who shared down the microphone to millions of listeners that 'Jesus is the Son of God who died for our sins,' albeit whilst dropping a few 'F-bombs.' Huff then supported this claim with historical evidence.

Toward the end of the conversation, Huff simply asked Rogan, 'What do you think of Jesus?' After everything that was discussed and the evidence presented, Rogan had no choice but to accept the validity of the Christian claim, stating, 'It works.' But rather than taking that final step of faith, Rogan awkwardly deflected the question into broader counter questions poking fun at atheists.
Rogan, like many others, claims to want evidence before they take Christianity seriously, but when it is presented, they will not accept it. Joe Rogan unknowingly admitted as to why this happens, 'such truth requires you to submit to the idea that Jesus is the Son of God.'
The Joe Rogan Experience #2252 proves that evidence for God is not the issue, it is the idea of submitting to Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. This reality has been broadcast to millions. I thank God for this. Well done Wesley Huff.
