Dear beautiful single Sister

I know that life is sometimes really hard for you. You feel forgotten and passed by. You feel misunderstood and disrespected. You are not valued nor appreciated as you ought to be. Sad, bad and mad things happen to you. You know betrayal, rejection and abandonment. You know what it is like to be used. It is all so terribly unfair! You feel like crying and shouting, and giving up all at the same time. You feel crushed by it all and believe those internal lies that you are worthless – just rubbish. You feel as if life isn’t worth living anymore.

You are deeply loved in Christ

You need to know that in Christ you are more loved than you could ever dare imagine. You are more forgiven than you could have ever believed possible. The past is in the bottom of the ocean and it is left there. Each day is a new beginning and there are wonderful new mercies. Your heavenly Father is watching over you day and night; he delights in you. You are his child, his daughter, and he is ordering all things together for your good and for your joy. In Christ you are so deeply loved just for who you are and as you are – you are completely accepted. You need to believe it because God promises it is so and because of what Christ did to prove it to you. Look at yourself with the love of God and see just how utterly beautiful you are. All the superficial things that the world looks at and ‘Photoshops’ are just that – superficial. God has made you amazingly in his image. Believe it!

Our status here is temporary

I know that your desire to be loved and cherished is very deep. You long for your prince to come and sweep you away. You already have your One True Love, Christ, the ultimate Prince who gives you that deepest love and cherishing. You are his princess always and forever. Rest in the embrace of that best deep eternal love. Trust him if he brings you someone in this life to share your life with. Our status here as single or married is only temporary and both bring benefits and difficulties. We need to live in our singleness, or marriage, to his glory and we know it is for our sanctification. Rise above these temporary things into Christ and there you will find fullness of joy and peace.

Once you know who you are in Christ and how loved you are, and that you accept yourself and can live to serve God and others with a grateful heart, then you will become a most attractive person. You will be able to look for good character in those men who pursue you. You will have the confidence and friendliness to respond to them. You will be irresistible to the right person, who will be drawn to you. You will not be needy or demanding as the Lord will meet your deepest soul needs. The right person will be able to be themselves with you and you with them, both relying fully on God. You will be treated with respect.

God’s loving hands

I can’t promise you that you will meet the right person. You may or you may not – these things are secrets known to the Lord, in his way, will and time. You can hope, pray and leave it in his loving hands. I do know that if you are the woman that he calls you to be and that you truly are: beautiful, beloved, and valued, I know you will have deep joy, peace and happiness as you live your life
