Jeremy and Elizabeth McQuoid, who have been heavily involved with the Keswick Convention for many years, are set to move to Canada.
Jeremy has served as Teaching Pastor at Deeside Christian Fellowship Church in Aberdeen, Scotland for the past 21 years. He also serves as Chair of Trustees, Keswick Ministries. Elizabeth is Commissioning Editor at Keswick Ministries, and is behind the widely-acclaimed Food for the Journey daily Bible devotions.
Speaking to en, Jeremy said: “We had been asking the Lord if He had one more church for us to invest in, before retirement – life is short and energy is limited! That’s when we heard about Grandview Church in Kitchener, Ontario, part of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches.
“They were looking for a Lead Pastor who was committed to expository ministry, would lead the pastoral team, train up the next generation, and motivate the church towards church planting. The church has grown quickly to more than 900 and is full of multi-cultural immigrants finding their way in an increasingly liberal Canada, where many churches have fallen away from the gospel. Grandview is located very close to an evangelical theological seminary, and the Lord drew our hearts to it as only He can.
“We are looking for the Lord to use us in whatever ways He sees fit. But, certainly the opportunity to train up new leaders in a visionary church within a multi-cultural context is an exciting opportunity.
“Moving from secular Scotland to an increasingly secular Canada also brings the challenge of how to hold tightly to Christ-centred Bible ministry in a place where Christianity no longer holds the sway it once did. It is a unique kind of mission field, requiring standing firm in the non-negotiables of the faith, while reaching a new generation from a multitude of religious backgrounds and experiences.”
