Booth outlines the pre-eminent place of grace in all the various aspects of salvation (e.g. election, justification). The style is forthright and as the editor notes, may sound strange and somewhat harsh to modern ears. However, it is well worth our attention, and is not difficult to understand. It is both an edifying and a convicting book in turns. In our modern context we can lose sight of basic Christian truths such as the reality and seriousness of sin and the wrath of God. This not only gives us a false idea of the human condition - it also detracts from the amazing wonder of what God has done in Christ. Reign of Grace brings all of this to the fore, emphasising the wonderful grace of God operating at every level of salvation and the Christian life.
