VOICES BEHIND THE VEIL
Gen. Ed. Ergun Mehmet Caner
Kregel Publications. 218 pages
ISBN 0 8254 2402 X

Voices Behind the Veil draws back the curtain on life for Muslim women - the child, wife, daughter, mother and religious adherent. The unveiling reveals a cruel, unjust and almost hopeless reality. The contributors include former Muslim women and Christian women who have lived among them. They portray what it means to be a woman living in Islamic society and they do this with courage and sensitivity.

The book begins with testimonies of Muslim women who became followers of Christ after a search to fill the void in their lives. A chapter on Muhammed's wives concludes with the contrast between his marriages and what the God of the Bible teaches about marriage being a sacred bond, an illustration of the intimacy between God and his people.
