‘DON’T THEY MAKE A LOVELY COUPLE?’
By John and Ann Benton
Christian Focus. 135 pages £4.99
ISBN 1 84550 046 7

This is an excellent book! Written for those preparing for marriage, or for those who are already married.

It sets out to answer six important questions about marriage. `What, who, why, how, when and where (is your marriage heading)?

Based strongly on God’s Word, each chapter is packed full of a wealth of wisdom and good advice, helpful illustrations, practical food for thought as well as things that will make you smile.

It’s hard to give highlights in a book that is all so helpful. Here’s one quote!

‘A strong marriage, like a well-kept house, needs a continuous rolling programme of attention and maintenance.’ The ‘How?’ chapter then goes on to suggest nine ways in which a strong marriage is built and maintained. All are very practical and attainable. The emphasis on ‘giving’ is particularly valuable in our ‘grabbing’ culture today. ‘Self denial and sacrifice are crucial to a good marriage.’

I’m sure it would be the prayer of the authors that this book would help, strengthen and transform many marriages for his glory So buy it, read it and lend it — and you will not be disappointed!
