The author brings out so vividly the drama, dynamism and inspiration of the 16th century, in the very readable accounts of the lives of Thomas Bilney, William Tyndale, Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley, and Thomas Cranmer. It is so very evident throughout that the main effective tool used to bring about the Reformation was the all powerful Word of God, and its translation into the English language.
