For those of us who quake in our boots when we hear the word ‘evangelism’, Breaking News is a very helpful and user-friendly training resource.
Although J. John is himself a gifted evangelist, he recognises the fears that can paralyse the average Christian and seeks to deal with them honestly and with understanding.
The course is ideal for small groups, as J. John uses a personal and conversational style, but it can also be used by an individual or in a whole church setting. Participants will be encouraged and challenged to share their faith more confidently as they consider various Bible passages and J. John’s searching questions.
The course runs for six sessions and covers ‘The “Why” of Evangelism’, ‘What is the Good News of Christianity?’, ‘What is Friendship Evangel-ism?’, ‘This is my story’, ‘Demonstrating the Good News’ (a challenging chapter on social justice) and ‘How we can receive power for Evangelism’.
I would recommend this book to anyone with a heart to share the good news about Jesus Christ and also to those who, as yet, don’t!
