PURE
Sex and relationships God’s way
By Linda Marshall . IVP. 144 pages
ISBN 1 84474 090 1

Pure started life as a course for Christian Unions and the book has a student feel to it. There are six chapters each based on a passage of Scripture with six or seven discussion questions at the end.

Linda Marshall has succeeded in opening up the Bible’s teaching on sex and relationships in a clear and powerful way. Familiar passages are dealt with freshly, with helpful and grace-filled applications. The book is grounded in a right understanding of the gospel; again and again we are driven back helpfully to the cross.

For student groups and even youth groups this book will be of real use. It succeeds in being relevant. However, at times, you feel the author is trying a little bit too hard to be funny and some of the illustrations will date quickly.

These are little concerns for a book that is really needed and worth giving to every Christian young person and student you know.
