I wish this excellent little book had been written when I was raising my family.
As the blurb on the back cover states, ‘many churches are implementing special projects and techniques in order to achieve’ growth. However, churches are, for the most part, made up of families and if families are spiritually healthy, spontaneous growth in the church and spiritual development in the community will result.
The author asserts that the traditional practice of family worship has been largely lost and pleads for its return. He cites the examples of the 18th century American theologian Jonathan Edwards and his wife whose daily devotions with their children resulted in the conversions of dozens of people not just at the time but for many years after.
