Whoever thought that God and doctrine are boring should read this book! I loved it and am recommending it to everyone in the hope it will stretch their minds and hearts as it did mine. What better way to know God than to study who he is and so worship him for who he is.
As its title indicates, this book is an explanation of the character of God. However, the author understands that people today do not like theology and so would never consider reading a theology book. But, as a pastor, he also knows that people love stories. So he attempts to examine who God is through 13 Bible stories. Each of the chapters considers one aspect of God’s character. He begins each chapter with an explanation of the doctrine, then he explores it through the story and finally he applies it to our lives.
