This is a handy-sized book which is easy reading and seeks to expose the weaknesses of evolution theory, especially in relation to biblical teaching.
I am uncertain as to the target audience, but suspect it is primarily to encourage creationists in confidence in their biblical position. It will certainly do that. It is unlikely to persuade an evolutionist to change his view.
The book is in three parts: the historical background, a biblical review (a fuller development of the theological issues would have been helpful) and some scientific aspects (but it does not deal with these in sufficient depth).
Mr. Tokeley gives an extensive list of organisations, authors and publishers, but there are notable omissions. For example, he has not included the Biblical Creation Society, a foremost British creationist organisation, and nor does he include Evangelical Press who have published a number of significant creationist books.
There are some errors and some unwise comments. For example, it is not a fair criticism of evolution to condemn it because it has been used by the likes of Hitler. I can produce a similar criticism of the Bible which has been abused (e.g. to justify apartheid, etc.). The claim of the rotting plesiosaur has been rejected by most creationist organisations. The reference to hidden messages in the Bible (e.g. mathematical) needs to be used with caution.
