Naomi Reed and her husband were happy doing physiotherapy in their Sydney home when they felt called to the mission field. This journey led them to India and then to Nepal. As Naomi faces her seventh monsoon season, she reflects on the different seasons of her life and the truths she has learnt about her heavenly Father along the way. This book gives refreshingly honest insights into the challenges of mission and bringing up a family overseas.
The book was encouraging as it draws our attention to the faithfulness of God worked out in someone’s life, especially during the trials of home schooling, multiple miscarriages, civil war, 120 days of constant rain and being so far away from the comforts of home and family. It doesn’t glamorise mission or the life of the missionary and is a reminder that God chooses to use weak and sometimes unwilling vessels to achieve his purposes. A very readable book which would be a good introduction to a missionary biography.
