MEET ME AT THE OLIVE TREE
By Julia Fisher
Lion Hudson. 192 pages. £8.99
ISBN 978 0 857 212 283

There’s nothing like stories of true Christian conversion. Add to that the reconciliation that occurs between two Christians on opposite sides — like a Jew and an Arab — and that’s a very powerful witness to our broken world.

Julia Fisher tells 15 true stories that warm our hearts, and can be passed on to others who might be wondering if Christ makes any real difference in the 21st century. It is a very encouraging read, showing how Christ changes lives, overcomes bitter hatreds and is the only hope for the Middle East.

Premier Radio

Julia, who regularly visits Israel and has set up The Olive Tree Reconciliation Fund, has presented these stories on Premier Radio. The book takes a narrow view of God’s plans for Israel and knocks ‘replacement theology’, which limits the book’s use to those who see Israel today as God’s chosen people rather than all believers as the new Israel.

However, the great value of the stories is to show God’s remarkable life-changing work in bringing both Arabs and Jews to faith in Christ, and helping them work together to see others come to know the Lord Jesus Christ for themselves. This must surely be our prayer, and our hope, for the Middle East.
