Demolishing barriers
Graham simply but profoundly moves from his personal testimony to opening up John 1, where we see Philip helping his friend Nathanael overcome these three barriers to faith. And in three short chapters (I read the whole book in less than 20 minutes), each of those barriers is beautifully demolished in a way that is easily understandable for most people. And then he ends with a chapter entitled ‘So What About You?’
Graham talks naturally and with humour but does not dumb down the glory and hard-hitting truth of the Christian message. He shows that the Scriptures are anything but weird or irrelevant and untrue. I was left wanting to carry on reading John’s Gospel.
