This is quite a book! Just one reading of it is not sufficient.
Mike Mellor has lived what he is writing, but reading what he has written explains why he has done so. He is an evangelist who has passion and compassion. The Pursuit is biblical and practical, laced with anecdotes, quotations and testimonies. Reading it both blessed and stirred me. I look forward to a ‘second blessing’ by re-reading it. The book is much more than another volume about witnessing, but encouragingly balances the twin truths that we are co-workers together with God, and that he is working with us in evangelism.
Mike Mellor has provided us with a timely product when society is seeking to intimidate us into silence about Jesus and the gospel. The 142 pages are exciting and readable, and though I would want to underline that Jesus ‘is the propitiation for our sins and not for our sins only but also for the whole world’, and that God’s desire is that all should repent and believe, I am sure that God will use the careful reading of this book to enthuse and equip Christians to be wise soul-winners led by the Holy Spirit.
