In each season, the premise is simple. Two sisters chat about a book of the Bible over a cup of tea and (maybe) a biscuit. One sister lives in the United States and the other in the UK. They get together every week to discuss the book they have chosen for the season. Every episode opens with a discussion on what’s in their mug and what biscuit or snack in accompaniment.
In this first episode of season two, Felicity Carswell and Sarah Dargue are talking about the book of James. This first episode is used to give an overview of the book before it is looked at more closely in the following episodes. Each sister gives their thoughts on how they got on with reading James. Each episode also includes a selection of ‘Questions to Consider’ in the blurb.
Honest and encouraging
The sisters briefly compare the writing style of James and the apostle Paul while also giving context to who the book of James is written to. The podcast feels like being a fly on the wall in an honest and encouraging conversation between two sisters connected not just by their own blood, but by the blood of Jesus.
This introductory episode is sincere and rather in-depth for a shorter podcast in comparison to the average podcast length (19 minutes compared to the average of 40 minutes).
The encouragement from the sisters is to grab your sister (in blood or Christ) or a friend whether they live next door or in another continent and come together over this podcast and a cup of tea.
