PrayerMate is an award-winning Christian prayer app that seeks to help you actually pray for all the people and causes you care about.
Before writing this review, I hadn’t heard of the app. On the surface, it looks as if they could be on to a winner.
I think most Christians have received a message or spoken to a friend and replied, ‘I/we will be praying for you.’ I know I have. Yet, most of the time, although I have every intention of praying for this person or situation, I will forget. So, PrayerMate is looking to eliminate this issue by giving you an app to make prayer lists.
You may be thinking, ‘I could just use my notes app.’ You could, but PrayerMate seems to offer much more.
The user interface is simple, yet effective. Each prayer point when you’re ready to pray appears as an index card with any notes you made on the specific prayer request. You can make prayer categories and even schedule a time to pray within the app. The app also allows you to subscribe to an organisation’s prayer feed; including the Church of England. You can attach photos and PDF attachments and there is a directory to find Bible verses that give encouragement for a particular situation. The app can send you reminders and you can set up a password to protect your sensitive prayer requests.
PrayerMate has a 4.8 star rating on both the App Store and Google Play. For anyone like myself who sometimes struggles to remember prayer requests and organise their prayers, this could certainly be a helpful app.
