Do you find it easy to “lay up [God’s] Word in your heart” as Psalm 119v11 puts it?
Nope, me neither! Over the years I have tried various ways of memorising Scripture, from notebooks to index cards – and both of those can be helpful, of course.
But I do very much like the BibleMe app, which I have now been using for quite a while. Not only is it now free, but it is intuitive, pleasing and highly adaptable. You can memorise suggested verses, or download your own. Different Bible versions are available. You can also set a pace for yourself – varying how many and how often verses automatically pop up each day.
Not sure where to start? Personally I love verses from the Psalms, which can be turned into short prayers through the day.
One caveat – so far as I can see it is only available on Android and not on Apple devices.
