On their website, Faith Comes By Hearing says: “Millions of oral people have no access to the gospel in the language and format they understand. Our goal: to provide that access.”

It seems that the apostle Paul is clear when he says that “faith comes by hearing”. So making the Bible accessible to those who don’t have a written language is paramount.

That’s where Faith Comes By Hearing and their app Bible.is come in. Their goal is to make the Bible audibly available in all languages by 2033. Having lived overseas in an oral culture, it staggered me how many people rely on information being communicated orally for their daily survival. How much more important then is communicating the gospel?

The organisation provides free access to Scripture in over 1,800 languages, making it one of the most comprehensive resources for audio Bibles available today.

The website is clean and easy to navigate, with sections highlighting their global ministry work, tools for churches and individuals, and partnership opportunities. Stand-out features include the app and resources for the deaf and military personnel.

We read that every tribe, nation, and tongue will worship at the throne of God. How important then this ministry is to ensure the gospel is shared in every tongue!
