On September 12, representatives of 14 Jewish-Christian ministries and the wider church, joined together to celebrate 200 years of the UK Messianic Jewish movement.
The meeting was held at Christ Church, Spitalfields, which years earlier hosted the small gathering of Messianic Jews and Christians who met to encourage one another.
200 years later, and the fruit of those early meetings came together to celebrate what the Lord has done since then among the Jewish community, a powerful demonstration of God’s love reaching out through Christians who long to see ‘all Israel… saved’ (Romans 11.26).
Prominent speakers, such as Dr. Richard Harvey (International Messianic Jewish Alliance, Jews for Jesus), Daniel Nessim (Chosen People Ministries), Tom Lori (Messianic Testimony), Kelvin Crombie (previously CMJ) and Alex Jacob (CEO of CMJ) addressed both the challenges and the blessings of Messianic Jews to the church.
The evening celebration was led by Bishop John Taylor, Patron of CMJ, with a word from respected Messianic Jewish author, Martin Goldsmith, who shared his thoughts on Jeremiah 1.4-9 and Matthew 13.24-34 in relation to the father of many nations.
