Around 100 men gathered at Gwersyllt Congregational Church in Wrexham for the annual North Wales Men’s Conference on October 5.
Steve Timmis from Acts 29 / WEST was the guest speaker and took up the theme ‘Everyday Gospel’, challenging the men to remember that Christ is enough and to live good and attractive lives.
Speaking from Colossians 1 in his first message, Steve explained that the men don’t need more than Christ in their Christian lives, they just need more of Christ. This, he explained, comes across in identity, behaviour and relationships.
After a time of worship and a coffee break, Dafydd Cunningham, who is leading a church plant in Denbigh, was interviewed and Steve Timmis explained more about the work of Acts 29.
Steve then spoke from 1 Peter 2 in his second message, encouraging the men to lead distinctive and honourable lives, taking Christ as their example.
Christ-focussed
Ian Hughes, pastor of Gwersyllt Congregational Church, Wrexham, who hosted the conference, said: ‘Steve brought a great challenge about living Christ-focussed lives in our neighbourhoods and communities, reminding us that we have all we need in him.
‘It was great to gather men together from across north Wales and to hear about the work of church plants here, as well as the work of Acts 29 across the UK.’
