The Christian Party has launched the 2015 Declaration of British Values Campaign in the run-up to May’s General Election.
It is asking all candidates of whatever party to agree to the following pledges:
• to respect, uphold and protect the right of Christians to hold and express their beliefs and to act according to Christian conscience.
• to protect human life.
• to protect traditional marriage.
• to protect British constitutional law.
It hopes to produce a list online of all the candidates, and a guide as to whether or not they agree with these pledges, which can be accessed by all voters.
The Christian Party is putting up candidates in England, Scotland and Wales, but as a small party it cannot stand in every constituency. Instead, it says, its vision is to help every voter to vote for a candidate who upholds the standards of God’s Word whatever their party allegiance.
