Enfield gets an assist

Senior pastor Johnny Prime welcomes Luke and Larissa

In early September, Luke Crowter was inducted as the assistant pastor of Enfield Evangelical Free Church (EEFC).

The son of the pastor of the church across the street from his home in Streatham, Luke saw the good news of Jesus as very much a part of daily life, understanding the gospel message from an early age. Somewhere between the ages of 8 and 10 he increasingly realised that faith in Jesus isn’t inherited and therefore he needed to trust Jesus as his own Lord and Saviour. With the knowledge of hell being there if he didn’t repent, he remembers repeatedly asking Jesus to forgive his sins, just to make sure he had definitely answered.

Since being a teenager he had the desire to be involved in proclaiming the good news of Jesus and, following a church apprenticeship in Surrey, he attended the Proclamation Trust Cornhill Training Course in central London. It was there that he met Johnny Prime, pastor at EEFC, when he came to teach a session. It was there that it became clear that God was calling Luke to EEFC.
