On October 23, Inter-Varsity Press UK announced that its distribution facility and offices in Nottingham will cease operations in January 2016.
IVP UK came under the management of SPCK in early October 2015 to ensure the survival of the IVP UK publishing imprint with its highly respected conservative evangelical publishing ethos.
Sam Richardson, Chief Executive Officer of SPCK, said: ‘Moving IVP UK into London maximises the efficiencies to be generated from combining the organisations, and thereby ensures the best possible platform for the continued success of the IVP and SPCK imprints, which will of course remain distinct.’
The consultation process with IVP UK staff is ongoing. IVP UK staff have been invited to apply for a number of London- or home-based roles in the combined organisation.
Enhanced redundancy packages
Sam Richardson said: ‘Those IVP UK staff members who do not find roles in the combined organisation will receive enhanced redundancy packages above and beyond what is statutorily required; we will do our utmost to ensure that those staff are compensated for their many years of hard work and that they find a good place to continue their careers.’
All orders and product returns will be honoured into 2016.
