Leeds: new building, new name

St Margaret’s Hall

Formerly known as Leeds Reformed Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church has a new church building exceeding all expectations since it outgrew its first home 18 years ago.

The opportunity arose last year to buy the building the church had been renting for the previous two years, St Margaret’s Hall in Horsforth (about three miles from Headingley).

God’s provision

In the Lord’s kindness, sufficient finance was raised by selling the church’s old home in Headingley and from giving within the church family. The building needs to be renovated to make it a suitable home for Sunday services, various ministries and the church’s Pre-School.

Future witness

Timescales are extremely tight as the Pre-School must be ready for a new school year in the autumn (and a visit by Ofsted in advance). And while the church family has raised finance to begin the building work they anticipate a shortfall for its completion. The church would value prayer for this project and its future witness to the community of Horsforth in Leeds. www.ebcleeds.org.uk
