The tag-line is ‘For every student on campus to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.’
So how are Christian students going to find the motivation to keep sharing the gospel, even when rejected? Where do all Christians find a reminder of why the gospel is so important? Ultimately, it’s all by the grace of God and one of his gifts to us is his Word – in his Word is the challenge, encouragement and hope needed to keep going.
University of Liverpool
Read Through Romans is a daily devotional scheme being run by the University of Liverpool’s Christian Union over the summer holidays. It ran Monday to Friday through the months of July and August. Each week goes through two chapters of the book and at the end of the week there’s study for taking it further, discussing what the chapters have been talking about and linking it with a sermon available on the Internet.
The aim of Read Through Romans is to help Christians to create (or keep, despite losing all routine over the holidays) a daily pattern of reading God’s Word, thinking about what it teaches, and praying.
Access
The studies are published on the Liverpool Christian Union blog and then shared on Facebook, (on the Liverpool Christian Union page: you can search for it on Facebook or Google) and on personal accounts. The studies go through a section of a chapter and are followed by approximately four to six questions, points to pray through and a link to a song relating to each day.
Please pray for the work of Liverpool University Christian Union, and other Christian Unions around the country: that they would encourage and help Christians in their own spiritual walk and in reaching out to their peers. Pray that Read Through Romans would encourage Christian students to keep sharing the good news found in Jesus Christ.
