Beginning in Bournemouth

Chris & Serena Durrant and family

Chris Durrant was ordained and inducted into the pastorate of Howeth Road Evangelical Church on 9 September.

Chris had attended the Cornhill Training Course whilst working alongside the elders at Hailsham Free Church.

London Seminary

Chris had received the call to be the pastor of Howeth Road in February while he was still completing his studies at London Seminary. He moved down to Bournemouth with his family after finishing his studies in June.

Excited about serving God in his first pastorate, Chris said: ‘There is a great need in our society for the Christian church to be a clear and distinct witness to the grace of God. We hope and pray that this will be true for us at Howeth Road in the coming months and years.’

The service was led by John Rosser who had been the moderator at Howeth Road since January 2016. Phil Walter from the FIEC led the ordination and induction, and Spencer Cunnah, from Kensit Evangelical Church, preached.
