Reports in July noted that the Church of
England Diocese of Southwark has seen
contributions falling from orthodox parishes as a result of its participation in gay
pride events.
Cathedral staff marched with the cathedral
banner at London’s Gay Pride Parade, flew the
LGBT flag from its flagpole, and is hosting an
LGBT activist at a drinks reception in August.

Diocesan
Director
of
Ordinands entered into a civil partnership
in 2017, an event celebrated with a communion service, reception and dancing in the cathedral.
