New group for undertakers under strain

A new Christian support group has been formed for those working in the funeral or bereavement sector.

Undertakers and their colleagues have experienced significant strain due to Covid deaths. Transform Work UK has set up a Christian support group called Christians Working With the Bereaved (CWWtB) because there were Christians in this sector that had no fellowship with others doing the same or similar work.

Not alone

CWWtB says it ‘wants Christians to know that they are not on their own, they are being prayed for, supported and encouraged by other believers as they serve people who are grieving. It is the distinctiveness of the hope that believers have in Jesus that can make a difference when people are mourning.’

In addition, many Christians in the funeral and bereaved sector are members of professional organisations, so CWWtB will seek to support and encourage members to be godly influences in those bodies.

It also has the aim of sharing best practice and current guidance, so that work will not only be carried out to the highest standard, but will supersede that standard as all seek to honour the Saviour who they serve, and have compassion on those people who are mourning.
