Bible teaching week Word Alive is this year online due to the pandemic – and is being offered free of charge. Director Nigel Beynon writes:
‘Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow … Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”’ (James 4:13-15)
For an event organiser these are good words to remember. For an event organiser in a global pandemic they are essential!
While we can’t recreate being together at Word Alive, we are pleased to provide some online resources which we pray will provide a spiritual boost for all ages.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can offer these sessions free of charge. If you haven’t been to Word Alive before it’s a chance for a little taster. Or if you are a regular, while far from the real thing, we hope it brings back fond memories.
From 6-9 April there will be: a main session for adults and students, with David Cook teaching from Proverbs and Olly Knight providing music; a ‘Families together’ programme for children up to the end of primary school; youth sessions for secondary-school ages; an international student programme; a Count Everyone In programme for those with learning disabilities.
And on Mondays from 12 April: Steve Midgley on fear; Rebecca McLaughlin on talking to friends about Jesus; Garry Williams on how we should think about the Bible.
