A new theological centre along the lines of Tyndale House, Cambridge, is to open in Oxford this September.
Professor Michael A.G. Haykin, a regular contributor to en, will be serving as the first Director of Newton House when it is inaugurated.
Michael Reeves, President and Professor of Theology, Union School of Theology, said: ‘For some years now, the UK has been without a centre to match Tyndale House, Cambridge, in the fields of systematic and historical theology and church history, and we have been the poorer for it.
‘The vision of Newton House is to nurture the pastor-theologians, authors, and teachers of the next generation, and foster evangelical theological strength in the church with the finest scholarship.’
A number of evangelical theologians from around the world join Professor Haykin as Senior Fellows at Newton House including Dr Andrew Atherstone, Professor Gerald Bray, Professor Bradley Green, Professor Robert Letham, Professor Michael Reeves, Dr Philip Ryken, Professor Corneliu Simuț, and Professor Kevin Vanhoozer.
