Co-Mission churches are finding new ways to get the gospel out into local neighbourhoods and beyond.
Christ Church Mayfair has redirected its London:Living? podcast to be an evangelism tool addressing current issues for their congregation members to share with the community. These include the topics of Death & Loss, Peace of Mind, and Racism & Injustice. Through these conversations the church can engage people in their Honest Questions and Christianity Explored courses.
Matt Dew-Jones, pastor of Grace Church Beckenham, has posted a video series called Covid Conversations which has seen some success online. These include sensitive topics like Unemployment, Mental Health, and stories from frontline NHS workers about their faith. Through this, a few seekers could experience church anonymously, which later led to inroads for the gospel.
A Co-Mission spokeman said: ‘It’s encouraging that, with restrictions easing, we can gather as the body more regularly. However, we’re sure that many of these digital avenues for sharing the good news of the gospel will remain open, drawing more people into a relationship with our Lord and Saviour. They provide an opportunity to reach those who might not otherwise feel comfortable in a standard church setting. They also allow community and engagement beyond the church’s walls and the regular Sunday service. Would you please pray for all the churches in London as they continue to seek God’s will and engage with the lost of our capital city?’
