An evangelist has spoken out about a missed opportunity to witness to the late soul singer Amy Winehouse.
Evangelist J. John was speaking at the annual conference of the Church’s Ministry among the Jewish people (CMJ). Winehouse herself was Jewish.
J. John said he put off a persistent nudging from the Holy Spirit to speak to Winehouse, who was renting his cousin’s home in Camden, north London.
Amy Winehouse, known for her unique Grammy-winning voice, died on 23 July 2011 aged 27 after a battle with drugs and alcohol.
The evangelist was prompted to make his comments while speaking on the book of Jonah. He urged delegates to recover their confidence in the gospel – to the Jew first, but to Gentiles too and to take every opportunity to share it.
