The Anglican Mission in England (AMiE) has a new member church – Hope Church Goldthorpe in South Yorkshire.
The congregation is meeting in Astrea Academy Derne, on the south side of Goldthorpe village.
This brings to 17 the total number of churches within AMiE, and it is expected this will have increased to 24 by the end of 2022.
Jo Bull (see photo), operations manager of AMiE, said: ‘We are praying that God will help them achieve their three aims of: building one another up; reaching out to non-believers; and doing good. As a network, we long for people to hear God’s word and be saved, and so it is a joy to partner with Hope Church Goldthorpe as they seek to share the good news of Jesus with those they meet.’
She added: ‘Although the impact of Covid-19 is still being felt by many of our churches, as leaders try to make wise decisions and pastor people sensitively, there have been some positives that have come out of the pandemic. God is so good and there is much to be thankful for.’
AMiE is a network of Anglican congregations which are not part of the Church of England. It is headed up by Bishop Andy Lines.
