The Church of England Evangelical Council (CEEC) is launching a ‘suite’ of films to help churches think about how they would respond if General Synod approved some significant doctrinal, liturgical or in-practice changes to its views on sexuality after the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) process.
Evangelicals across the Church of England have been engaging with LLF as part of what is being framed as a ‘discernment process’.
‘The CEEC has heard a number of messages from evangelicals throughout the LLF process’, says John Dunnett, Director of Strategy and Operations, CEEC. ‘The first is a renewed commitment to be a welcoming church to people with different life experiences and convictions around issues of human sexuality. We have been reminded that all are made in the image of God and that all people are loved by God. So we have been challenged afresh to work out what that means Biblically, in practice, and to commit to it with renewed vigour.’
