The Connected Conference has reconvened after Covid.
The event is aimed at Reformed Evangelical congregations in the north of England and specifically ‘for men and women serving in local churches’. The Conference has been held for nearly 40 years.
Dr Matt Bingham of Oak Hill College, spoke on the theme ‘Not a Sparrow Falls: living in the light of God’s providence’. There were three main talks:
1. ‘Life’s Little Details and the Sovereignty of God’ with Matthew 10:28-31 and Ephesians 1:11 the main texts. The focus was on what the Reformers labelled ‘God’s Meticulous Providence’. 2. ‘But God Meant it for Good: evil, suffering and the sovereignty of God’. Genesis 50:15-21 and Romans 8:28. Not all things are good but God works for good in all things. 3. ‘The Lord Establishes Your Steps: decision making and the sovereignty of God.’
