The launch team of a new independent church in Salisbury has begun meeting regularly, after months of prayer and planning.
Trinity Church will be open to the public in September. Until then, said Pete Bentley-Taylor – one of the founders – the team is ‘engaged with sharpening convictions, sharing vision and building a sense of family together’.
He said the spiritual need in Salisbury is significant, with ‘only a tiny fraction of the 60,000 people who live in or around Salisbury attending any kind of Bible-teaching church’.
The church is the latest FIEC church plant from Christ Church Southampton and the Reach South network. The launch team comprises some 40 people, including children.
Bentley-Taylor, who is leading the plant alongside two further elders, stressed the desire to work alongside other groups and churches. He said: ‘We’re particularly pleased that one church has already offered to partner with us by sharing their premises throughout the week.’
The team asked for prayers that the Lord might establish this church.
