The Keswick Convention 2022 brought thousands of Christians together this summer under the banner of ‘All One in Christ Jesus’ (see also en, August).
The theme was ‘Grateful’ and there was certainly much for which to be grateful, writes Emma Harrison.
More than 6,000 adults and 1,500 children and youth attended the Convention over the three weeks. Each week, faithful and engaging Bible teaching encouraged Christians to live for Jesus Christ, with the main morning Bible expositions given by Alistair Begg on 2 Timothy, Jeremy McQuoid on Ephesians, and Martin Salter on the life of Jacob.
Sessions were live-streamed, and all the teaching is freely available for catch up on YouTube. Conventioners expressed gratitude in many ways: Many appreciated the Bible teaching and also the sung worship, led by Emu Music, Ben Slee and Olly Knight. Everyone commented on the wonderful feel of the whole Convention being on the redeveloped Pencil Factory site. A young adult with Down’s Syndrome who has been coming to the convention all his life asked his mum: ‘Please can we come for all three weeks?’ Keswick Convention provides a programme including kids and youth sessions, Count Everyone In for adults with learning disabilities, Keswick Unconventional arts programme, and mission organisations – all enabled by a committed staff team and 650 volunteers.
