Are Christians coping?

Hayes Conference Centre

How are Christians coping with the pressures of today’s culture – at home, in our schools and colleges and in our churches? Against this background, the theme for the 2023 Grace Baptist Assembly at Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick on a sunny few days in May was, appropriately, Triumphing in Tribulation.

Ian Jemmett (Bethersden) presented a comprehensive report, Where are we and how did we get here? A panel of four - Oliver Allmand-Smith (Ramsbottom), Jonathan Bayes (Stanton Lees), Andrew King (Highbury) and Paul Smith (Broadstairs) – discussed the issues raised in the report, particularly those being faced in education, in churches and in the family.

Other speakers included Noel Ramsey (Wensleydale) who spoke at the opening session of the tribulation experienced by the church in Smyrna and known to Christ. Stephen Rees (Stockport) ministered in the evening on keeping a proper perspective of our struggles in this world compared with the joy that will be ours in the world to come.
