About 850 young people and youth leaders attended this year’s Sorted one day youth conference, which took place at Westminster Chapel.
Attendees came from a wide variety of Anglican, Baptist, Free/Independent churches and many others. Most were from around London, but there were also groups from Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Brighton, Bournemouth, and Norwich.
Keynote speaker Ben Putt tackled Revelation 4-5 and Louise Silk and Graham Albans ran the three ‘altogether’ sessions. Other activities included a worship band, prayer, book reviews and interviews, which this year included Jesse Fellingham introducing Christianity Explored’s new Vox evangelistic video series.
The seminar programme, which was incorporated last year, was continued but in a more practical and interactive format. So Rachel Holton sought to apply the main talk series, looking at living in the light of eternity. Jono Chalklin tackled suffering since the conference was held on Remembrance Day. And Christine Armstrong from Word One-to-One shared about how to use it to equip young people to read the Bible with their friends.
Anya Bowker, a member of the team who planned and ran Sorted 2023, said 'Since the event, the feedback we’ve had has been really positive. Many groups come back year on year; it’s a staple event in their church calendar. That is because they find it really inspiring, good discussions come out of the teaching, they enjoy the music and are encouraged by seeing so many other young people standing for Jesus and seeking to grow in faith. We praise God for that'.
