On 24 February around 120 people gathered at Welcome Hall Evangelical Church (WHEC), Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, for a welcome service as Martin Leech took on the role of Associate Pastor, alongside our Senior Pastor, Jeremy Brooks.
It was late 2021 when Martin and his wife Penny moved into the local area. Initially, caring responsibilities constrained Martin and Penny’s involvement in church life, but as these eased they quickly forged relationships and became valued church members. The Associate Pastor position became vacant just as Martin was beginning to consider a return to ministry, and so it was a timely suggestion from the elders that this might be the next step.
David Cassells, pastor of New London Road Baptist Church in Chelmsford, gave a charge to Martin, from Deuteronomy 11, and Richard Brooks, part of the WHEC preaching team, gave a charge to the church, from Revelation 2.
