Christian Anglers UK has just held its eighth annual retreat weekend.
With an estimated 3 million fishermen in the UK, the group was originally founded by Jon Barrett (then an Anglican vicar, now a free church pastor) following a sabbatical in the USA, where he had visited a number of churches who use fishing as a means of evangelism. Initially formed with outreach in mind, the group has become more of a vehicle for discipleship, and currently has around 100 members in its Facebook group.
