Manchester: Vision for 30 new churches by 2030

The Northern Gospel Project is seeking to see 30 gospel churches planted in Greater Manchester by 2030, through training, funding, and providing care for church planters and their teams.

So far, we have trained 15 church planters through the Incubator training course, cared for seven church planters through Planters Collectives, and raised £63,000 to seed fund church plants across the city.

As part of our commitment to identify and prepare church planters, we are hosting the Church Planter Launch Pad on 27 February to 2 March 2025. We believe that this is the first time such an event has been held in the UK.

The event is aimed at those who would prayerfully like to investigate whether God may be calling them to plant a church in Manchester. The long weekend will combine teaching on church planting and on the city of Manchester, with tools to help attendees better understand themselves and ascertain whether they may be a good fit for planting in Manchester. We encourage spouses to attend, and both hotel accommodation and meals will be provided.

The weekend will be led by experienced pastors from Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), Newfrontiers and Anglian Mission in England (AMiE) who have a track record of planting in the city. There will be opportunities to explore the city and visit churches and church plants over the course of the weekend. Those who are identified as prospective church planters will be able to apply for church planter residencies at Northern Gospel Project churches from September 2025. We have a generous bursary allowance for UK church planters which means that many will be able to attend at little or no cost.
