A growing number of Christians are signing up to a programme committed to helping its students learn more about the Jewish roots of their faith.
The Church’s Ministry among Jewish People (CMJ) has launched “Torah Plus” – a programme focused on teaching how what is written in the first five books of the Bible (the Torah, or Pentateuch) is perfectly fulfilled in Jesus (or Yeshua), and exploring the Hebraic roots of Christianity.
Paying subscribers receive access to a private members’ area, a growing archive of material, study notes, a variety of speakers and teachers, interviews, special offers, and a weekly 30-minute video study on a set passage led by General Director of CMJ UK, Aaron EimeAaron Eime.
Eime said: “We want to reclaim a passion for the whole counsel of a God who has not changed, avoiding the danger of separating the Old from the New Testament, an early heresy known as Marcionism defeated by the Church Fathers, but which seems to have reared its ugly head again.”
Eime has dedicated 26 years of service to CMJ in Israel, having spent much time studying with rabbis – some of whom have reportedly come to know their Messiah, Jesus Christ.
CMJ was founded in 1809 and has a long history of witnessing to the Jewish people about their Messiah and seeking to encourage Messianic believers (Jews who follow Jesus). The organisation is also known for sharing the Jewish roots of the Bible with the church – aided by the Torah Plus programme since its launch. CMJ UK says Torah Plus participants can become part of a “growing community of Jesus’ disciples”.
