The annual conference of the Evangelical Movement of Wales (EMW) took place as usual in Aberystwyth during the second week of August.
The highlight of the conference each year is the preaching of God’s Word in the Great Hall of the university campus. This year’s speaker was David Meredith, Mission Director for the Free Church of Scotland.
David preached to a packed hall on four consecutive mornings, exploring passages where revival took place. On Tuesday he preached from Ezekiel 37, ‘The day revival brought a graveyard to life’; on Wednesday, Psalm 126, ‘When revival makes people laugh and cry’; on Thursday, Jonah 3, ‘Power preaching and the racist prophet’; and on Friday, Acts 4, ‘Revival prayer shakes buildings’.
David also led a workshop on church renewal and revitalisation.
Trystan Hallam led the Family Service on Sunday morning and Gerard Hemmings, Paul Williams, Mostyn Roberts, Stephen Clark and Dyfan Williams preached in the evening meetings.
There were plenty of meetings and activities for children and families, as well as the Extra Time programme for students. 2025’s conference will take place from the 9th – 16th August when Vaughan Roberts will be the main speaker. Evening speakers are Jeremy Bailey, Steffan Jones, James Muldoon, Emyr James, Graham Beynon and Lewis Allen. Bookings for 2025 will open in November.
Anyone wanting to catch-up on the preaching will find all the services on the EMW’s YouTube channel.
