This year will be a critical one for the Church of England (CofE), says the Church of England Evangelical Council (CEEC).
"The Living in Love and Faith trajectory is going to continue (confirmed by the recent General Synod); deanery and General Synod elections will be taking place; and the pressure on finances, stipendiary ministry and ordinand numbers is ongoing," CEEC says.
With this in mind, CEEC has announced three Summits in April. These Summits will bring together evangelicals in the Church of England in prayer and worship, to listen to one another, and to share what needs to happen in 2026/27 to uphold and secure orthodoxy.
Rev. John Dunnett, CEEC's National Director, said: "In a season shaped by the ongoing Living in Love and Faith journey and the continuing drift towards revisionism within the Church of England, these Summits will make a vital contribution to our unity and mission. We all need to be crystal clear about what needs to happen next to secure orthodoxy for future generations."
CEEC is organising three Summits around the country, which are open to both clergy and members of congregations.
- London – Tuesday 14 April at All Souls Langham Place, W1B 3DA
- Bristol – Tuesday 21 April at St Michael’s, Stoke Gifford, BS34 8PD
- Manchester – Monday 27 April at Holy Trinity Platt, M14 5NF
These will all be daytime events from 11am to 4pm. These events are free of charge and readers can book their place through their Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship.
