International speakers were in Bangor, Northern Ireland, at the end of August to participate in the 89th Worldwide Missionary Convention under the theme "Go Tell It."
With meetings held over eight days, the interdenominational, evangelical event is of considerable significance in the missionary life of Northern Ireland.
Bible studies were led by Joe Barnard, an American who has been serving in the UK for several years.
Other speakers included Voddie Baucham, the founding Dean of the School of Divinity at the African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia; Beredi Dusan, the lead pastor of the Protestant Christian Fellowship Novi Sad, the largest Serbian evangelical church in Serbia; and Igor Bandura, vice-president for international affairs, Baptist Union of Ukraine, and a pastor and missiologist.
Evening meetings featured first-hand accounts of mission work from a range of countries, including Zambia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Serbia, North Africa, and Uganda.
Founded in 1937, the Convention has been a place for thousands of people to experience the global church and to give their lives to making Jesus known across the street and across the world.
Chairman Tom Clarke said the committee was encouraged by the turnout at all the events: “We have so much to be thankful for.
"We were blessed with speakers that came from all over Europe, the USA, Asia and Africa, enriching us with what God is doing in those places even in the midst of war in Ukraine.
"We appreciate the mission agencies, missionaries, bands, chairmen, volunteers and attendees but we are most thankful to our great God for His blessings upon the Convention and for the Word of God that is still going out far and wide, and for the lives that have been encouraged to 'Go Tell It'!

“The weekday morning Bible teaching has always been a vital part of our Convention since 1990, and we all benefited greatly from the teaching of [Joe] Barnard who unpacked Colossians 3 for us.
"Our visitors also enjoyed walking through the Global Village with over 60 mission agencies taking part showcasing their gospel work in various countries and continents.
“Our prayers have been answered and we are thankful for all the encouragement, prayers and stories.
"Our Friday evening celebration in association with New Irish Arts was such an uplifting and fitting way to end a wonderful Convention week.
“We want to thank everyone who came along and supported us during the week, and plans are already in motion for our 90th celebration in 2026."
Next year's Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention will take place from 14 - 23 August (Friday to Sunday) 2026.
