Keswick Convention organisers are sharing their thanksgiving after the close of a successful event this summer saw what they describe as 'record numbers of visitors in recent years'.
This year’s Convention - which focused on the theme of Resurrection - welcomed an estimated 13,000 people to the site across three weeks to hear Bible expositions, and to worship together and spend time in the Lake District. Thousands more worldwide joined sessions online through livestream.
One attendee commented: “My family have just had a fantastic time at Keswick this year, feeling both physically and spiritually refreshed! A massive thanks to all those involved in organising and running the convention.”
The Convention hosted it’s largest-ever children and youth programme with over 3,000 children and young people registered across the three weeks.
Charis, a parent of three children, said of the programme: “My [kids] absolutely loved the groups and had such a brilliant, fun, welcoming time learning about Jesus!”
Over 680 volunteers supported the Convention this year including children and youth teams, additional needs support, welcoming and stewarding, site operations and hospitality. Keswick Ministries are reliant on the generosity of God’s people serving one another in this way – with joy and fellowship that flows from knowing Jesus.
One of the other values at the heart of Keswick Convention is serving God’s mission. Mark Ellis, Chief Executive of Keswick Ministries explains: “We want to strengthen the Church and refresh and equip every believer to live for Jesus wherever he has rooted them: in everyday workplaces, neighbourhoods and churches. We also want to prayerfully challenge the Church to engage with the global needs and call of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Mark commented: “It is incredible to see so many thousand believers from every background, united in Christ Jesus, worshipping together and leaning forward to hear God speak through his word. And a wonderful joy to hear numerous stories of hearts melted by seeing Jesus and wanting to walk more closely with him.”
The 2025 Convention will look at the theme of Transformed between 12th July and 1st August 2025 with Andy Gemmill, Tim Chester, and Dane Ortlund speaking at the main morning meetings. Children and youth must register in Spring 2025, organisers say.
